Historic Book Club-The Poker Bride

Join us for a digital book club on "The Poker Bride" by Christopher Corbett. The event will be held via Google Meet, a link will be posted on all of our social media and our website about 30 minutes before the meeting. Participants will need access to a computer, the internet, and at least a microphone if they want to be heard.

The Poker Bride is the story of one Chinese women, Poly Bemis and an exploration of the Chinese experience in the Wild West. Though Poly Bemis lived in Idaho, and not Wyoming, her story connects deeply to the experience of similar women across the west.The movie "1,000 pieces of gold" is based on the life of Poly Bemis.
